These little girls grow amazingly FAST! I had to take pics of their wing development in just one week. We've had lots of visitors to see the "baby chicks" but I think after a couple more weeks all the fuzz will be gone!

Speaking of gone- you'll notice only 4 chicks in the box. We lost one that failed to thrive after trying everything we could. Had our first chick funeral on Sat. for little Athena. Another life lesson for the kiddos who took it in stride. Thursday we'll be picking up 3 more chicks that I have been waiting for - a couple of heritage breeds hopefully if they come in!. We are kind of lucky to live in TX- the largest hatchery in the nation is just down the road- and so the local farm stores here can really get a great selection of different chicks this time of year... by Friday we should have pics of the newbies-
